Meet Your Host, Lauren!

Hi, my name is Lauren, but my close friends and family call me Lo. I’ve lived in Atlanta, GA for majority of my life, and this is where I met my wonderful and loving husband Devone. I graduated from Georgia State University with an Bachleors of Science in Respiratory Care Science. After some time at the bedside, I went back to graduate school to pursue a Masters of Science in Health Information Management. I’m a lifetime learner. So naturally, I want to go back to school to major in African American Studies.

I’m an anti-social extrovert with heart, strength, integrity and wisdom beyond my years. I love learning about people, different cultures, and intellectual concepts of life. I am a nerd at heart. A hardcore The Sims fan, that’s me. Proud to say it. LOL! I am passionate about my health, family, friends, spirituality, and personal growth. I can talk about just anything and make someone smile. I love a good book. Any suggestions? Send me a message. I love brunch dates with my girls in the summer and international trips to distant places. I’m a homebody that enjoys loving on my Honey while we watch a good movie under a blanket home. I believe in taking social media hiatuses because….. ugh….self-care is key. Need I say more?

My Why…

I started this podcast because I saw there was a need for a REAL conversation about REAL topics young professionals face in everyday life. And yes, we are in a time where we are seeing more progressive conversations in regards to things that were once taboo—but there is still a need for a curated dialogue. My hope is to facilitate a constructive, yet fun platform, that can blend both the light-hearted and the intellectual mindset into one.

The Low Key Thriving podcast is for the intellectual listener that acknowledges the opportunity for growth, but stands in their greatness with humility and confidence. We don’t run from the opportunity to unpack difficult issues. We face them. We are tackling so many new challenges today, and it truly takes mental endurance to navigate through this things called life. This is what the Low Key Thriving lifestyle is all about. Confidently becoming the master of our own lives while acknowledging the fact that we’re perfectly imperfect, but, we take initiative, and we walk in greatness. No matter the conclusion.
